Safety and creativity belong together.
Bu. is a space for self-expression, style exploration, and creative identity, designed for users aged 13 and over. Parents and guardians can also use Bu.'s website resources to understand how the platform works and how younger users are protected.
We take that responsibility seriously.
This page is Bu.'s central safety hub. It brings together everything you need to know about how Bu. is designed to be safe, how to report something that concerns you, and where to go if you need help.
If you need to reach us directly, we are at support@buapp.info.
Safety by design
The most effective safety features are the ones built into the structure of a platform before anyone ever opens it.
Bu. was designed differently from many social apps. A number of features that are common on other platforms do not exist on Bu., and that was a deliberate choice.
There is no direct messaging on Bu. Users cannot contact each other privately. There is no inbox, no chat window, no way for one person to reach another directly through the app.
There are no comments on Bu. No one can leave a public or private written response on another user's content.
There are no group chats. Bu. has no group communication features of any kind.
There is no voice chat or livestreaming. Bu. is not a live platform. There is no real-time audio, video, or broadcasting.
These are not features we removed. They are features we chose not to build. Direct messaging, comments, and live communication tools are where a significant proportion of harmful online interactions occur. By not including them, Bu. removes those communication channels entirely and reduces opportunities for harmful or unwanted contact.
What Bu. does have is a discovery feed where users can share creative outfit content, follow other creators, and save looks that inspire them. These are one-directional, creative interactions. They do not open a channel between users.
Reporting content
If you see something on Bu. that does not feel right, you can report it.
What you can report: Any outfit or profile on Bu. can be reported. If content appears to violate Bu.'s Community Guidelines, if something feels harmful, inappropriate, or targeted at a specific person, report it.
How to report: Every outfit and every profile in the Bu. app has a report button. Tap it, choose the reason that best fits, and submit. You do not need to write a detailed explanation.
You do not need to be certain before reporting. If something feels wrong, that is enough. You do not need proof. You do not need to be sure a rule has been broken. Your job is just to flag it, and we will make that assessment.
Reporting by email: For anything that feels urgent, or that you want to explain in more detail, you can email us at support@buapp.info. Mark your message as urgent if the situation requires immediate attention.
Need immediate help?
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services or child protection authorities before contacting Bu. Bu. cannot replace emergency services.
What happens after a report
Here is what the process looks like.
Step one: your report is received. Whether submitted through the app or by email, reports come through to Bu.
Step two: the report is reviewed. Reports are assessed against our Community Guidelines, taking account of the content and the context in which it was shared. Bu. uses a combination of automated moderation systems and review by our team.
Step three: a decision is made. Based on what the review finds, we decide what action is appropriate.
Step four: action is taken. Depending on the situation, this might mean no action is needed, content is removed, a warning is issued to the account responsible, account features are restricted, or the account is permanently removed. Serious violations involving child safety or illegal content may be referred to the relevant authorities where required or appropriate.
We will not always be able to tell you the specific outcome of a report you submitted.
Child safety
Bu. is for users aged 13 and over. Children under 13 are not permitted to create accounts, and accounts that appear to belong to users under 13 may be removed.
Child safety is one of Bu.'s highest priorities. The platform's design, including the absence of messaging and comments, directly reduces the risk of grooming and unwanted contact. Where serious violations involving minors occur, Bu. may remove the content and account immediately. Where required by law, child sexual exploitation and abuse content is reported to the appropriate authority or designated reporting body.
If you have an urgent concern involving a child's safety on Bu., email support@buapp.info and mark your message as urgent.
For the full detail on how Bu. approaches child safety, visit our Child Safety Policy.
Community standards
Bu. is a creative community, and every person on it has a role in keeping it that way.
Our Community Guidelines explain in full what is and is not acceptable on Bu. They cover everything from the kind of content users can share to how Bu. expects people to treat each other's creative work.
If you are unsure whether something crosses a line, the Community Guidelines are the place to start.
Appeals
Bu. makes moderation decisions to protect the community. We try to get those decisions right, but we know that mistakes happen.
If content you posted was removed, or your account was restricted, and you believe the decision was incorrect, you can ask for a review. Decisions can be upheld, modified, or reversed based on what a review finds.
Visit our Moderation Appeals page to find out how to submit an appeal and what to expect from the process.
Parents and guardians
If your child uses Bu. and you have questions, concerns, or a request, we want to hear from you.
Parents and guardians can contact Bu. to ask how the platform works, raise a deletion request for a young person's account, raise a concern about their child's account or content, or ask about what data Bu. holds about their child. For young people aged 13 to 17, privacy rights belong to the account holder as well, so we may need to speak with them or seek their authorisation depending on the circumstances.
You do not need to have a specific complaint to reach out. If something does not feel right, contact us at support@buapp.info.
For privacy or data questions, contact contact@buapp.info. For safety concerns, account issues, or deletion requests, contact support@buapp.info.
For a full explanation of how Bu. works and the choices we have made to protect younger users, visit our Parental Guide.

Safety makes creativity possible
People express themselves most freely when they feel safe. That is not a principle Bu. arrived at after the fact. It is the reason Bu. was built the way it was.
No direct messaging. No comments. No live communication. A clear set of community standards. A platform where the structure itself reduces the conditions for harm.
Safety is not separate from what Bu. is. It is part of what makes Bu. worth using.
If you ever need us, we are here.
