Your information is yours. Here is how to manage it.
When you use Bu., you share information with us. You have rights over that information, and Bu. takes those rights seriously.
This page explains what rights you have, how to exercise them, and what to expect when you do. We have kept it in plain English because privacy rights should not require a law degree to understand.
Bu. is operated by Neriyas LTD, which is the data controller responsible for personal information collected through Bu. If you have a question that this page does not answer, reach us at contact@buapp.info.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
See the information Bu. holds about you. You can ask us what personal information we have collected and how it is being used.
Correct information that is wrong. If something Bu. holds about you is inaccurate, you can ask us to fix it.
Delete your information. You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information associated with it.
Receive a copy of your information. You can ask for a copy of the personal information Bu. holds about you, in a readable format.
Limit how your information is used. In some circumstances, you can ask us to restrict certain ways we process your information.
Object to certain processing. In some circumstances, you can ask us to stop processing your information in particular ways.
The specific rights available to you may vary depending on where you live. UK and EU users have rights under UK GDPR and EU GDPR. California residents have rights under CCPA and CPRA. Wherever you are based, we will do our best to help.
The right to access your information
You can ask Bu. what personal information we hold about you.
A typical access request might cover:
Account and profile information. Your display name, username, the email address associated with your Apple or Google account, date of birth, and profile picture.
Content associated with your account. Generated outfits, saved looks, closets, discovery feed posts, and your style preferences linked to your account. This also covers your Star balance, purchase history, and any Bu Shop items associated with your account.
How your information is used. A general explanation of what we collect and why, as described in our Privacy Policy.
To make an access request, email us at contact@buapp.info with the subject line Access Request.
The right to correct your information
If personal information Bu. holds about you is inaccurate or out of date, you can ask us to correct it.
Examples of things you might want to correct:
An email address that is no longer current. A date of birth that was entered incorrectly. Account details that do not accurately reflect your situation. The email address associated with your Bu. account is provided by your Apple or Google sign-in provider and stored as part of your account authentication. If you need help correcting the email associated with your Bu. account, contact support@buapp.info.
Some information can be updated directly within the app through your account settings. If you need help correcting something that you cannot update yourself, email us at contact@buapp.info with the subject line Correction Request.
The right to delete your information
You can ask Bu. to delete your account and the personal information associated with it.
Users can also request account deletion directly through the app where this functionality is available. Alternatively, you can email us at contact@buapp.info with the subject line Deletion Request and we will process it from there.
When an account is deleted, we remove your profile, your content, and the personal information associated with your account. Limited moderation and safety records may be retained in anonymised form where appropriate, with identifying details such as usernames and account identifiers removed. This is explained in more detail in our Privacy Policy.
Deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted and the process is complete, it cannot be reversed. Any unspent Stars and purchased Bu Shop items associated with the account are lost and cannot be restored. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a Bu. Plus subscription, which must be cancelled separately through the App Store.
The right to receive a copy of your information
You can ask Bu. to provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
This means we can put together the core information linked to your account in a readable format and share it with you. Receiving a copy in this way is not necessarily the same as exercising the legal right to data portability. Where the right to data portability applies, eligible personal information can be provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. Not every category of information Bu. holds is necessarily covered by that right.
To request a copy of your information, email us at contact@buapp.info with the subject line Data Request.
The right to restrict or object to processing
In certain circumstances, you may have the right to ask Bu. to limit how we use your information, or to stop using it in particular ways.
These rights apply in specific situations, such as where you believe information is inaccurate and want processing paused while we review it, or where you object to a particular use of your information that we are not legally required to continue.
If you want to exercise these rights, email us at contact@buapp.info and explain what you would like us to do and why. We will review your request and respond to you.
Rights for parents and guardians
If you are a parent or guardian with concerns about a child's account on Bu., we want to help. It is worth knowing that privacy rights belong to the young person as well as being a matter for you. Where a young person is capable of understanding and exercising their own privacy rights, we may need to deal with them directly, or ask for their authorisation, before sharing their information with you. We will also consider parental responsibility, the young person's best interests, and the circumstances of the request.
If you believe your child is under 13 and has a Bu. account: Contact us at support@buapp.info and we will look into it. Accounts identified as belonging to users under 13 may be removed.
If you want to raise a deletion request for a young person's account: Email us at support@buapp.info with the username or the email address associated with their Apple or Google account. We will look into it. For young people aged 13 to 17, we may need to speak with the account holder or seek their authorisation before deleting the account, depending on the circumstances.
If you want to know what information Bu. holds about a young person: Email us at contact@buapp.info with the subject line Data Request and include the account details. We will explain in general terms what we hold and how it is used. Where a young person can exercise their own rights, we may need their authorisation before disclosing their personal information to you.
If you have a broader concern about how Bu. handles young users' data: Our Parental Guide explains how Bu. works and the choices we have made to protect younger users. Our Child Safety Policy covers our approach to child protection in full.
How to make a request
All privacy rights requests can be submitted by email.
Email: contact@buapp.info
Bu. does not charge a fee for standard privacy rights requests.
Suggested subject lines: Access Request, if you want to know what information Bu. holds about you. Correction Request, if you want to correct inaccurate information. Deletion Request, if you want your account and information deleted. Data Request, if you want a copy of your information.
What to include in your request: Your Bu. username. The email address associated with your Apple or Google account. A brief description of what you are requesting and why.
You do not need to use those exact subject lines or any legal terminology. A clear, straightforward description of what you need is enough for us to recognise and process a valid privacy rights request.
Verifying your identity
Before fulfilling a privacy rights request, Bu. may ask reasonable questions to confirm that you are who you say you are.
This is a standard step that protects everyone. It ensures that personal information is only shared with or deleted for the person it belongs to, not someone else who may have submitted a request using another person's details.
We will keep any verification process as simple and proportionate as possible. We will not ask for more than we need.
How quickly we respond
Bu. aims to respond to privacy rights requests as promptly as possible. Response times may vary depending on the nature and complexity of the request and the volume of requests we are managing at the time.
We will always acknowledge your request and let you know we have received it. If we need more information from you, or if there is a reason a request cannot be fulfilled, we will explain this clearly.
For users in the UK, EU, and certain US jurisdictions, we aim to respond to privacy rights requests within any legally required timeframes, including the one-month response period required under UK GDPR where applicable.
If you are not satisfied
We hope to resolve every privacy rights request fairly and promptly. But if you are not satisfied with how Bu. has handled your request, you have the right to raise a concern with the relevant privacy regulator in your country.
For users in the United Kingdom: The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) handles data protection complaints. Website: ico.org.uk
For users in the European Union: Your local data protection authority handles complaints in your country. A full list of EU data protection authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu.
For users in the United States: Privacy rights and enforcement vary by state. California residents can raise concerns with the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) at cppa.ca.gov. For general consumer privacy complaints, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) can be reached at ftc.gov.
Raising a concern with a regulator is always your right. We would always prefer the opportunity to resolve things directly with you first, but we fully respect your right to escalate if you feel that is necessary.

Privacy rights are not obstacles
Some platforms treat privacy rights requests as a process to be managed and minimised. We do not see it that way.
The right to know what information a platform holds about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to receive a copy of it, these are reasonable expectations. They exist because people deserve to have some control over their own information, and because platforms that handle data should be accountable for how they do it.
Bu. is built on trust. Respecting privacy rights is part of what that means.
